The Parrot & Lily Blog
Our home feature in Better Homes & Gardens
Tulika Bhatnagar
To say that this year has started on a good note is an understatement. Sometimes, things happen faster than you can pause to comprehend them. And when the day is done and gone, you smile. I'm so happy that our home was featured in the January Edition of Better Homes & Gardens. We couldn't have been more ecstatic when they contacted us, while we were in Maldives. If I begin to tell you how we put our home together the very day after returning to India, you'd probably laugh. Hope you enjoy reading this article as much as we did. ...
A Dream of an October
Tulika Bhatnagar
For a very rare exception, October became my favorite month of the year. And why not, Parrot & Lily was part of two very prestigious events back to back. I had to postpone my vacation and move my Diwali card party twice but life is quite sorted when you have good friends. Apart from classic furniture & decor, my interests are quite concentrated. I love my daughter, can never get enough family travel, and it would be an understatement to say that I love the magic of wine. In fact, a lot of our travel is centered toward wine regions....
Travel Thursdays - A small Greek story, things you learn when you travel

Recently, I wrote a blog for a phenomenal children's learning & development center - Nutspace. I simply adore what they do, how they inculcate so many skills that our children need in this day and age from communication to social & emotional learning, all through activities and storytelling. What makes this endeavor even more endearing is that the dynamic founder Rohini Vij is following her passion & is good at it, so it exudes brilliance. I shared an anecdote from our recent trip to Greece, and I'd love to share it as it appeared at the Nutspace blog. "There are many things that just can...
Few must-have toddler toys
Tulika Bhatnagar
When it comes to buying things for the little ones, or as I may say for Sayuri, I have always been very cautious, particular and selective. I feel that if something only holds value for six months, I can do without it. Case & point - I never got a bassinet (as adorable as they might be), baby rocker and a baby monitor. For the most part, I am very wary of consumerism and how brilliant advertising makes us believe that we need something even though we don't. But I can definitely say that there are some toys that I...
Design Wednesdays - More Contemporary rooms, classic furniture - Theme Blanc
Tulika Bhatnagar
Recently, I had shared some beautiful pictures and inspirations that had classic furniture in a contemporary room setting. I'm always of the opinion that you don't have to label your home to one exact style or period of decor. You just have to have the aesthetic sense to bring everything together in perfect harmony. And do restrain from falling into design fads. They look good but get outdated very fast so sticking to, and investing in classics is a very good idea. Like for my home, I can proudly say that I have tried to mix the Sinhalese/Deccan tropical and...
